FAQ

    • Who can attend? Students, visiting students, staff or alumni of Oxford or Oxford Brookes.
    • What should I bring? You will need a fully-charged laptop or tablet.
    • Will I be able to use a charger? There aren’t any charging cables provided as part of the course or venue, but the OUGES has kindly furnished the suite with open sockets and powerful PCs.
    • How do I get into the venue? The main entrance to Jesus College is the small door cut out of the large door on Turl Street. Ask the lodge for a map to the esports suite, or simple walk directly through the first square, exit the proceeding square to the right (north), and go down the staircase ahead and slightly right of you.
    • When should I arrive? The course runs on Oxford time, so it’s fine to arrive up to 5 minutes late. For the first session, though, you may want to allocate up to 15 minutes for locating the venue after arriving at Jesus College.

Session Materials

The presentation notes and slides can be found below. Please note that these are not intended to be fully comprehensive on their own – that is the purpose of the lessons! – but should be enough to serve as a reminder of what was covered.

Hilary Term

In Hilary we run a series of sessions on other languages, such as Latex, Cobol and Rust. These sessions are aimed at people who want to broaden their knowledge of coding languages, with short tutorials on the basics of each language. Join our Member’s Discord to learn more about these.
